In the footsteps of history

The “In the Footsteps of History” route leads for the most part among fields. The whole area is interesting in terms of scenery, and its only forest section, from Dargomyśl to Cychry, with a spectacular lime avenue, is particularly charming. It connects towns with different histories, from ancient times to the present day. There are known traces of the settlement of Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age peoples. The earliest written documents date back to the first half of the 13th century. The former inhabitants were affected by wars, including the 7-year-long one with the Battle of Sarbinowo and other later disasters; the labour camp in Cychry dates from the Second World War.
